About Us

Mayuge cooperative is a community based, member owned, controlled, and governed by its members, who also benefit from it.

It began to be operational in 2019 and got registered with the ministry of trade and cooperation development on 19th/02/2020 as a Cooperative under Reg No. P.11245/RCS

 

The Cooperative is governed by the board composed of nine (9) members of the Board of

Director who are the majority shareholders.

Management of the cooperative is run by six (6) members of staff, headed by the Manager. A mong the few staffs are; Cashier, Credit Officer, 2 Field Officers and a Security Guard. This team is under the supervision of the Board of Directors.

The cooperative is composed of 2000 members who are organised in their groups and currently the Cooperative is proud of over 50 active groups.  We intend to mobilise more members and thus form more functional groups.

There are as well members of the cooperative that do not belong to any group but they are actively involved in the activities of the Cooperative as individuals

 

The cooperative have so far created 50 farmer groups  located in different areas of our operation and they are all engaged  in various income generating activities including;

Passion fruits, Soya bean, Cassava, Maize, Chilli, Okra, Mushroom, Poultry production Apiary      (Bee keeping) and petty trade business

 

Among the products that are available for the members of the cooperative include the following; Agricultural loans, Business Loans, School fees Loans, Emergency Loans, Asset Loans, Motor cycle Loans.

Relatedly as a must, appropriate trainings are provided to the applicant in the field of his/her interest before any funds are extended.

On another note, the cooperative assists members to identify viable markets and therefore encourage group members to sale their products under collective marketing programs.

Training of farmers in various income generating activities, Conducting research on marketable value chain ,lobbying for financial support (project proposals writing)and Identification of Partner to work with and among them are;  SESACO- CRAFT soya bean producers, IFC—International financial cooperation, FPG company- Horticultural crops, Tropical dynasty; chill, Okura, Uzima chicken, Mayuge District Farmers’ Cooperative , Mayuge district Local Government.

Among the Banks are; Stanbic Bank, United Bank of Africa and Tropical Bank
